Fabrizio Romano has provided fresh positive update on Florian Wirtz and Liverpool.
By now Liverpool fans may be getting tired of hearing about Wirtz, and rightly so, because so much has already been said.
There has been no shortage of updates on Wirtz and Liverpool since the day the news of the Reds’ interest in him broke.
But, the good news is that with each passing update, there is growing belief that the 22-year-old will sign for Liverpool.
What began like a joke has turned into something serious and in a matter of days Wirtz will complete his move to Liverpool.
This is according to a report from Germany on Friday that claimed that “Wirtz to Liverpool can be considered a done deal.”
According to Sport BILD’s Axel Hesse, there has been a breaktrhough in negotiaitons between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz.
“Negotiations between Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool regarding the transfer fee for Florian Wirtz are nearing completion,” the German reporter wrote.
“The Reds recently offered just over €130m including add-ons, while B04 are demanding €150 million.”
“Talks are ongoing, and an agreement is considered certain?
It seems possible that Wirtz will undergo his medical in Liverpool at the beginning of next week.”
He adds that the 22-year-old will net a tidy 22 million euros per year at Anfield, signing a 5-year deal.
The report also addded that a medical could be completed as early as Monday or Tuesday.
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed the story, revealing that negotiations between Liverpool and Leverkusen for Wirtz are “at final stages with details being sorted.”
“Wirtz will travel for medical, plan confirmed,” he added.
Wirtz is currently with the German national team, who are set to face France in the UEFA Nations League third-place playoffs on Sunday.
It is likely that he will travel for his medical after the game on Sunday.
